These Terms of Service govern your use of CompassCV. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using CompassCV at compasscv.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The service
CompassCV provides an AI-powered resume builder, mock interview tool, and LinkedIn headshot generator. Features may change, be added, or removed over time. We may also pause or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your login credentials. Notify us immediately at the contact below if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide accurate information when signing up.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use CompassCV to:
- Engage in any illegal activity or violate any applicable laws.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliations.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the service except via our published APIs.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, its servers, or any connected networks.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the resume content and data you upload to CompassCV. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to provide the service (e.g. generating AI suggestions, rendering previews, exporting PDFs). We will not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as needed to deliver the service.
6. AI-generated content
AI suggestions and interview feedback are generated by third-party language models. While we work to make outputs accurate and useful, AI can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before using it (e.g. in a real job application). CompassCV is not a substitute for professional career advice.
7. Billing and subscriptions
Paid plans are billed by our Merchant of Record (Paddle) in the currency shown at checkout. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled per our refund policy, available on the pricing page.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in abuse of the service. You may delete your account at any time from settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer
CompassCV is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific outcomes (e.g. job offers, interview invitations) from using the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice in the app. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
